Course Details
This Aerial Lifts safety course is a self-paced online program that teaches workers how to operate boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) safely on the job. Delivered entirely online, the training explains the equipment types, controls, and applications you are likely to encounter, from vertical scissor lifts to extendable boom lifts. You will learn to perform a pre-operation inspection, apply fall protection, and account for stability, load capacity, and ground conditions before elevating a platform. The course reviews the most serious aerial lift hazards, including tip-overs, falls, electrocution, and struck-by incidents, along with safe approach distances near overhead power lines. Content is aligned with applicable OSHA standards such as 29 CFR 1926.453 and 1910.67 and the ANSI A92 consensus standards for elevating work platforms. Running about one contact hour, it awards 0.1 IACET CEU on successful completion.
Because it is asynchronous, you can start, pause, and finish the aerial lift operator safety training at your own pace from any current web browser. Finishing the course earns a certificate of completion, which documents the classroom knowledge portion of operator training rather than a license or government-issued card. To be fully qualified, operators must also complete a hands-on evaluation by their employer, as OSHA requires an assessment of each operator’s ability to run the specific lift safely. Enroll today to build the aerial lift safety knowledge your team needs and keep your records audit-ready.

Aerial Lifts
Aerial lift training is a mandatory safety program teaching the OSHA-compliant operation of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) like boom lifts and scissor lifts, focusing on hazard recognition (electrical, fall, struck-by), pre-shift inspections, stability, proper PPE use (fall arrest systems), safe operating procedures (load limits, clearances, controls), and emergency response, combining classroom theory with hands-on practical skills to prevent accidents in construction, maintenance, and utility work.
