What You’ll Learn?

This Instructor-Led OSHA 10-Hour General Industry course is an OSHA Outreach Training Program that introduces entry-level workers to the hazards they are most likely to encounter in general industry workplaces under 29 CFR 1910. Participants complete required topics including Introduction to OSHA, Walking and Working Surfaces, Exit Routes and Emergency Action Plans, Electrical Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, and Hazard Communication. Elective topics drawn from the OSHA Outreach catalog such as Hazardous Materials, Materials Handling, Machine Guarding, Lockout Tagout, Bloodborne Pathogens, Ergonomics, Fall Protection, Safety and Health Programs, and Powered Industrial Trucks are layered in to match the audience industry. The course teaches hazard recognition, employee rights under the OSH Act, employer responsibilities, and the worker role in reporting injuries, illnesses, and near-misses. Instructors use real case studies, photos, and short videos to reinforce how common hazards cause injury and how engineering controls, safe work practices, and PPE mitigate risk. Learners practice reading Safety Data Sheets, interpreting GHS labels, identifying unguarded machinery, recognizing slip-trip-and-fall hazards, and using lockout devices. The program covers whistleblower protections under Section 11(c), the general duty clause, and how to contact OSHA to file a complaint or request an inspection. Upon verified completion of the full 10 hours and all knowledge checks, participants receive an OSHA 10-Hour Department of Labor student course completion card issued by the authorized trainer within 90 days, satisfying state and contractor entry-level training requirements.
