Course Details
Blended Commentary Drive – Drivers Safety Training combines online instruction with an in-person, behind-the-wheel commentary drive to prepare operators of company and commercial vehicles for safer work-related driving. Through the online modules learners build the foundations of defensive driving, hazard perception, and safe following distance, speed management, and lane discipline before applying them on the road. The in-person commentary drive component asks drivers to verbalize hazards, risk assessments, and safe response strategies aloud, turning routine driving into structured practice. Coursework covers high-risk driving conditions such as weather, traffic, fatigue, and distractions, along with the employer expectations that govern safe vehicle operation. Drivers also review pre-trip and post-trip inspection fundamentals and the reporting habits that support fleet safety. The program is designed for company vehicle operators, delivery and logistics personnel, field technicians, supervisors, and new hires who drive as part of their job.
Because the course is blended, the online learning and the guided commentary drive work together so that concepts are reinforced through real-world decision-making behind the wheel. Learners who successfully complete all modules, activities, and assessments earn a certificate of completion and 0.20 IACET CEU. The commentary driving method builds proactive driving behavior that helps reduce the risk of collisions on the job. Enroll today to strengthen your team's defensive driving skills through blended online and in-person training.

Blended Commentary Drive – Dirvers Safety Training
Commentary driving is a defensive driver training technique where the driver verbalizes their observations, hazards, and intended actions in real-time. By narrating the traffic environment (e.g., "light is green," "pedestrian ahead"), drivers enhance situational awareness, reduce complacency, and actively develop better scanning and hazard anticipation skil
