What You’ll Learn?

Course Details

51 - The Training Institute's Forklift Safety course is a self-paced online (CBT) program covering the safe operation of powered industrial trucks in warehouse, distribution, and material handling environments. Delivered entirely through our Learning Management System, this asynchronous forklift safety training lets learners complete the formal instruction on their own schedule within the course access period. The curriculum is aligned with OSHA's Powered Industrial Truck standard, 29 CFR 1910.178, and addresses the safe operating procedures, hazard recognition, and workplace practices expected of forklift operators. Modules cover the types and classes of forklifts, pre-operational inspections, and forklift stability principles such as the stability triangle and load center. Learners also study safe load handling and stacking techniques, refueling and recharging safety, and how to recognize common hazards like pedestrian traffic, ramps, docks, and limited visibility. The course runs 1.0 contact hour and awards 0.1 IACET CEU upon successful completion.

To earn the 0.1 CEU and a certificate of completion, participants must finish all required modules and learning activities and pass the final assessment with a minimum score of 80%. This online program delivers the formal-instruction portion of forklift operator training; under OSHA, full operator certification also requires a hands-on, workplace-specific practical evaluation conducted by the employer. The certificate documents that a learner has completed safe-operation training and is not, by itself, an operator license. Enroll today to begin self-paced forklift safety training and build the safe-operation knowledge every powered industrial truck operator needs before stepping onto the warehouse floor.
